International Travel

The University of North Texas (UNT) is committed to the safety, security, and well-being of students, staff, faculty, and volunteers traveling abroad. Proactive measures are taken to identify and respond to risks arising from university-related international travel.

Unmanned Aircraft System

The purpose of this policy is to provide a clear framework for Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS or otherwise known as drones) operations at the University of North Texas (UNT or University). Approved operations of UAS on UNT property or as part of UNT-sponsored activities off-campus must be compliant with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, state law, and UNT policies and procedures

Identity Theft Prevention

In compliance with the Federal Trade Commission's "Red Flags Rule", UNT’s Identity Theft Prevention Program is designed to detect, prevent and mitigate identity theft in connection with the opening of a Covered Account or existing Covered Account, and assist UNT units and departments in identifying someone who may try to use another individual’s identity to gain access to a UNT Covered Account.

Prohibition Against Sexual Misconduct and Retaliation

It is the policy of the University of North Texas to maintain a safe and respectful work and educational environment that is free from sex discrimination and allows all individuals to fully participate in the benefits and privileges the University has to offer. Therefore, in accordance with Title IX and state law, the University prohibits sexual misconduct at its educational programs and activities. Sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, retaliation, and other conduct prohibited under this Policy will be subject to disciplinary action.

Prohibition of Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation

The University of North Texas prohibits discrimination and harassment because of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected under applicable federal or state law in its application and admission processes; educational programs and activities; employment policies, procedures, and processes; and university facilities. The University takes active measures to prevent such conduct and investigates and takes remedial action when appropriate.

Central Receiving

The primary purpose of Central Receiving is to coordinate the function of receiving and delivering merchandise purchased by the University through the purchase order system. All merchandise delivered to Central Receiving is subjected to count and examination to determine if correct quantities have been received as indicated on the purchase order, and to determine if there has been damage in transit.

Asset Management

As a State institution of higher education, the University of North Texas is responsible for complying with state and federal laws as well as best practices in regard to accounting for and control of university owned property. This policy sets forth responsibilities associated with accounting for, inventorying of, use of, and disposal of personal property belonging to the University.

Spousal Travel

The travel expenses of a spouse who accompanies a University business traveler are reimbursable under this policy, provided it can be established that the spouse's presence serves a bona fide University business purpose (defined below). To be reimbursable under this policy, all spousal travel must have prior written approval from the President and will be processed in accordance with the UNT Travel Guide.

Payroll

The University of North Texas is committed to ensuring employees receive wages owed for work performed in an accurate and timely fashion, in accordance with federal and state laws and regulations.
