The University of North Texas is committed to compliance with the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Employee Alcohol and Controlled Substances Testing requirements under the rules of the Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act of 1991.
The University of North Texas will inform individuals about information it collects about them, unless the information may be withheld pursuant to state or federal law. The University will provide individuals the opportunity to correct information collected about them in records maintained by the University.
In accordance with university policies and state and federal regulations, the university is committed to full academic access for all qualified students, including those with disabilities. The University of North Texas Career Center shall administer an Hourly Student Employee program that provides eligible students the opportunity to earn money to help pay education expenses and that complies with federal and state laws, as well as applicable UNT policies.
All university records must be retained and disposed of in accordance with state law and the university’s record retention schedule as approved by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.
In the interest of promoting the health, well-being and safety of students, faculty, staff and campus visitors, the University of North Texas (“UNT”) prohibits smoking anywhere on university property and limits the use of smokeless tobacco products and electronic cigarettes on the UNT campus.

The University of North Texas is committed to providing a safe environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors, and to respecting the right of individuals who are licensed to carry a handgun where permitted by law. Individuals who are licensed to carry may do so on campus premises except in locations and at Activities prohibited by law or by this policy.
