Financial Reporting

Financial reports shall be prepared in conformity with the provisions of the General Appropriations Act, Article IX, and as required by TEX. GOV’T CODE ANN §2101.011. This code designates the Comptroller of Public Accounts as the official to prescribe uniform accounting and reporting procedures that each state agency, including colleges and universities, shall use in the preparation of the information requested under Section 2101.011, Government Code.

Exemptions and Waivers from Tuition and Fees

This policy outlines and defines tuition and fee exemptions and waivers for which statutory authority is provided to the University of North Texas. The provisions of this policy apply to all tuition, fees and charges imposed by the university on students, employees and the public, in accordance with Chapter 54 of the Texas Education Code. Note: All waivers and exemptions are subject to change by action of the Texas Legislature and/or the Board of Regents of UNT.

Access Control

The University of North Texas (UNT) is committed to providing a secure campus for students, faculty, staff, and visitors, as well as enhanced security for real and personal property through controlled distribution of keys and electronic access.

Construction Projects

This policy establishes procedures for the construction, renovation, repair and alterations of University buildings and facilities in a safe, cost effective manner consistent with laws and regulations of the State and the University.

Disposal of Abandoned Property

The University police department may dispose of abandoned and unclaimed personal property that comes into its possession in the course of performing official duties. This property includes, but is not limited to, currency, abandoned motor vehicles, bicycles, books, clothing, and electronic devices. Property held as evidence will be presumed abandoned after it is no longer valuable as evidence and is not claimed by its rightful owner.

University Police Enforcement

The University of North Texas Board of Regents has established a campus law enforcement agency with commissioned peace officers who, as specified in Section 105.152 of the Education Code, are empowered with the same jurisdiction, powers, privileges, and immunities as specified in section 51.203, Education Code.
