The University of North Texas (UNT) is committed to maintaining a campus environment that is free from the unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensation, possession, or use of a controlled substance and/or alcohol by faculty, staff, students, and visitors on all University property and as part of any official University activity or workplace, including performance of work done in connection with sponsored projects, consistent with federal and state law.

Reporting Suspected Wrongdoing

The University of North Texas is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards that encourage all UNT employees, independent contractors, students, volunteers, and agents (Community Members) to conduct themselves lawfully, honestly, and with integrity. Established controls and policies help to detect irregular activities; however, the university relies on its community members to make good faith reports of wrongdoing, such as suspected fraud and willful violations of policy, procedures, and laws.

Carrying of Concealed Handguns and Other Firearms on Campus

The University of North Texas is committed to providing a safe environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors, and to respecting the right of individuals who are licensed to carry a handgun where permitted by law. Individuals who are licensed to carry may do so on campus premises except in locations and at Activities prohibited by law or by this policy.
