This policy sets forth the rules governing the relationship between a private donor or an organization designed to further the mission and goals of the University of North Texas (UNT) and UNT and its employees, as required by Regents Rule 09.500 and section 2255.001 of the Texas Government Code. This policy establishes the framework within which the UNT will work with affiliated organizations.
The University of North Texas (UNT) will accept, manage, invest, and distribute endowment funds in a manner that respects donors, and is in accordance with fiduciary due diligence.
UNT is committed to establishing strong internal controls for handling cash to ensure these assets are protected, processed in an accurate and timely manner, and properly reported.
University of North Texas employees are responsible for all funds entrusted to them and for all financial transactions made by them in accordance with applicable state and federal laws and University policies and procedures. The Holder is ultimately responsible and accountable for all financial transactions for their department/project.
Financial reports shall be prepared in conformity with the provisions of the General Appropriations Act, Article IX, and as required by TEX. GOV’T CODE ANN §2101.011. This code designates the Comptroller of Public Accounts as the official to prescribe uniform accounting and reporting procedures that each state agency, including colleges and universities, shall use in the preparation of the information requested under Section 2101.011, Government Code.
This policy outlines and defines tuition and fee exemptions and waivers for which statutory authority is provided to the University of North Texas. The provisions of this policy apply to all tuition, fees and charges imposed by the university on students, employees and the public, in accordance with Chapter 54 of the Texas Education Code. Note: All waivers and exemptions are subject to change by action of the Texas Legislature and/or the Board of Regents of UNT.
The University is committed to acquiring and maintaining high quality works of public art that reflect the University’s mission, enhance the campus and foster an understanding, enjoyment and appreciation of the visual arts among the University community.
The University of North Texas nurtures performance and research in art and promotes an appreciation for creative artistic expression. Public art enriches the community and creates landmarks for the campus. Recognizing these values and seeking to enhance the lives of students and visitors, the University commits to allocate one percent of capital project funds to acquire and install artworks into building plans.
