Policy description
A leave of absence without pay is an authorized, temporary release of a faculty or staff member from the payroll. Leaves of absence are granted either under the provisions of applicable federal or state laws or by the University at the discretion of the employing department to protect employment and certain benefit rights for a specific period of time.
