The University of North Texas (UNT) is committed to building the institution’s capacity to raise private funds. As part of a funding strategy to increase capacity for philanthropic engagement, a portion of current use gifts to UNT and the UNT Foundation (Foundation) will be allocated to support the university’s advancement efforts. These allocations will ensure proper stewardship of donor intent while providing UNT with the flexibility to address emergent needs and opportunities for institutional growth.

Naming opportunities exist to recognize the dedication, accomplishment or generosity of extraordinary individuals and entities whose support is valuable to the mission and programs at the University of North Texas. This policy will guide the President in establishing consistent definitions, minimum standards, and general procedures to guide staff and donors in discussing naming opportunities.

Philanthropic support is essential to the University of North Texas.  Contributions from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other organizations are vitally important to the fulfillment of the University’s mission. This policy is intended to facilitate, coordinate, and manage fundraising activity so that donor intent aligns with University priorities.  Through an intentional and strategic process, alumni, organizations and friends will be solicited and stewarded in a consistent and coordinated manner.
