Research Space Assignment

All University of North Texas buildings, space, and land belong to the university and are subject to assignment and reassignment to meet the overall needs and best interest of the institution. Long-range planning for optimum use of these university assets is a continuing process. The assignment and use of space must change with university priorities. This may include space currently and traditionally held by academic units.

Animals On Campus Grounds

The University of North Texas is committed to providing a healthy and safe environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors by managing the presence of animals on university property and in its facilities, while providing people with disabilities who use service and comfort animals the opportunity to receive the benefit of the tasks these animals provide or the therapeutic support they offer in accordance with the requirements of federal law.

Honorary Degree Awards

The award of an honorary degree by a university is an extension of its role as the unique institution in society devoted to the discovery, transmission and preservation of knowledge.  The University of North Texas may award an honorary degree to individuals who, by their extraordinary achievements, add substantial knowledge to or better society as a whole, whether through the professions, arts, humanities, science, or service.

Request for Information Made Under the Texas Public Information Act

The University of North Texas (the “University”) believes that as an entity of the State of Texas, it exists in order to serve the people of Texas. Accordingly, it is the policy of the University to grant the public access to information regarding its records, affairs and transactions in accordance with the Texas Public Information Act as set forth in Chapter 552 of the Government Code. This Policy sets forth the appropriate procedure for responding to requests for information made under the Texas Public Information Act.
