What if I only need to make minor revisions or non-substantive changes to a policy?
Non-substantive policy changes are changes that primarily pertain to technical revisions such as changes to position titles, words, definitions, procedures, grammar corrections, etc. (i.e. - changing the number of people on a committee from four to five.) Note: All non-substantive changes are subject to approval by the UNT System Office of General Counsel.
- Contact the policy specialist who will assist in determining whether the change is substantive or non-substantive.
- Complete the Policy Approval Form, attach the revised policy and obtain the appropriate signatures.
- Submit a hardcopy and an electronic version of the policy draft to the policy specialist, along with a redline version of the proposed changes.
- Non-substantive changes will be made to the policy website.
